Resources

Please note that as of January 2006, the Math Momentum in Science Centers project has ended. However, we are maintaining this website as a resource and a way to share our work.

Resources Overview

The mission of the Math Momentum in Science Centers project is to establish professional development tools for science centers to help them make the math in their exhibits and programming more explicit and accessible. In addition to our set of Workshops & Events, we are developing a series of resources to assist science center staff and other interested stakeholders as they begin exploring and capitalizing on the rich math opportunities in science centers.

Reference Highlights

Go to our References page for a series of highlights focused on science centers and math, math education, math & equity, and the three main content pieces of our work—data, measurement, and algebra. These references are excellent places to start to explore these topics.

Promising Practices & Emerging Work

Each of the project's 13 core science center partners are developing one math-related project. In addition, the project is also producing a "Math Momentum in Science Centers" book, which will describe how science centers are weaving math into their work. A description of the partners' projects and the book will be made available on our Promising Practices page.
